re-clearing wheels

So I had to order a new rim, previous one was bent. And it looks like the clear is pitting a bit, from salt or something similar. I'm wondering is the process the same as painting the rims? Has anyone had to do this before? Thanks.

So its not a new new rim, just new to you? You should be able to just scuff up the surface and spray clear coat on.

i believe most wheels that are painted are clearcoated just like your car (base coat/clearcoat). technically u should be able to sand away the clear and respray them.
