Ford Tempos had the same drag coefficient as a T-Bird from the same year (.36 for 2 door, .37 for 4 door)

There was ONE 8 Cylinder Ford Tempo made when Ford was exparimenting with the T-drive system. It appears to be 2 2.0 Zetecs welded inline.

Tempo GLS (not all), Escort GT, Mustang GT, Taurus SHO, Thunderbird SC were the only 80's and early 90's Fords to come with a factory ground effects kit.

A Taurus 2.5 4 cylinder is a stroked Tempo 2.3

Tempo Front disc are smaller than Contour rear disc

4 different transmissions were offered for the Ford Tempo and only one was an Auto, but most cars were Automatic

4 Different engines were used in the Ford Tempo; 2.3 HSC, 2.3 HSO, 3.0 Vulcan, and 2.0 Mazda Diesel.

There were 21 different styles of rims for the Tempo within 10 years

There were 3 Generations of Tempo's, 84-87, 88-91, and 92-94, but the Tempo was redesigned for 86, 88, and 92, making 4 different styles, but many uneducated people think there are only 2 generations, 84-87 and 88-94

The Tempo 2.3 made 3 more ft/lbs torque than the 2.0 Zetec, but made 25 Less HP.

SVO Mustang also has a bit of ground effects unless you knock them off hitting cones:blackeye:.

The SVO was the first 5speed Mustang, the first with STANDARD 4wheel disc brakes and the only Fox body with 5 lugs.

Are you sure about that? :shrug: :crazy: I'm thinking for some people it's more on the lines of ... NEVER!!! This isn't always a bad thing... But, SOMETIMES it really annoys the crap out of me. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I know. my 89 GLS was my baby, and i did nothing but research on it for those 2 years. Tempo's are great cars. i love em :crazy:. The Tempo forum is how Ron and i met (offroadford4x4). He has a 93 Tempo and we're taking everything out of a 92 parts car and putting it into the 93. Engine, trans, suspension, interior. its all getting swapped over. :help: its an addiction. and its starting to get to me now with Contiques.

I can't drive a go cart, can't get bumped around. :( Maybe soon if this new doctor can fix up my shoulder.
**fingers crossed* I'll find out soon.

Random fact... I stumbled upon the CEG many years ago looking for a fix for the clunky front struts on Steph's first Contour. I joined and have been here ever since.
