questions for building up motor

well i was talking to a freind of mine i go racing with and he can build up and make a custom shift kit for my atx... and well i was wondering if a focus power stroker kit which brings it up to 2.3l from a zx3 focus kit would fit in a 99 mystiques motor block and if ported svt or zx3 heads would work too...

The 2.3L crower stroker kit for the Zetec is out of production. I'm not sure they ever actually had one reach a customer.

If you plan on simply staying naturally aspirated (I would advise this since you have a slushbox) your best bet is to find a used set of SVT Focus rods and pistons and have your head port and polished (but not decked!) by a decent machine shop. You have a VCT head so most of the Focus cam options aren't available to you. You essentially have the same motor found in the Escort ZX2 so you can go to ZXtuner.com and look at those cam options.

You could also pick up a used Jackson super charger kit and install that. It's been done and is prety much a bolt on mod.
