My clutch blew up, before going to the local places by me, I was wondering if anyone knows a good mechanic that knows the Contours well?

The Ford dealer (I know - dealer - ugh!) in Glendora is a SVT dealer and according to my neighbor is pretty good although I don't know if they know Contours that well. At least we can take heart that the Fusion is a similarly sized vehicle so working on them is probably somewhat similar to working on a Contour. I hope so anyway.

If you blew up your clutch, does that mean you're be driving your Contour again? Did you get that electrical problem solved then?

Karl

Wow Karl, you remember my electrical problem?! Yes, the main harness was corroded from battery acid leaking onto it (and the fact that the sheathing (sp?) was already cracked away). Anyways...that's ironic that you suggested Colley Ford, because that's where I purchased the car way back in '97. There's a transmission specialist just down the road from me, as well as a general "mom/pop" type of shop that has done work on my car as well as a friend's Contour. I was also given an offer of assistance from a local CEG'er who would come to my house and help me pull the motor/tranny and do it ourselves. The biggest problem for me is time (or lack of).

I had been driving it lately, giving the BMW a small break. I like the stares it gets, and the fact that it's still in such good (but not great) condition. Hopefully, I'll get it back on the road sooner than later!

I hear ya about the time, Dion. I've not installed the D2 suspension kit I bought a couple of years ago yet. Or NPR brake kit, gage pod, battery relocation kit, etc., etc. Don't really have the space either but have less time. I'll get around to it all sooner or later.

You should really get to installing some of that stuff, it'll revive the car and renew your passion for it! I still have an original poly filled front motor mount I need to install, and I may install my backdated 96 trunk and spoiler (if I ever get it painted). My car needs some TLC big time!
