loc-tite on axle nuts

I bought new axle nuts from Ford a couple months ago and they don't seem to be very effective at doing their job. I have to continually retighten them every other week it seems. Just wondering if anyone recommends throwing some blue or red loc-tite on them for a fix.

Are you torquing them to spec or what?

If they are at 200 plus ft. lbs. they cannot loosen by themselves.

I know at school Alldata says to torque to 250ft. lbs. You need to use a torque wrench on them.

definitely tourque to spec, shouldn't need loc-tite on axle nuts

Like they say, get 'em tighter. Every time they come loose you are shelling the bearings out that much faster. The tightness insures the bearing pulled up tight with its' races, when it gets loose the bearing wallows around on the edges instead of fully supported across the race. I'm surprised you haven't destroyed the bearings yet. They usually shell out really quick like that.
