Lifter/Valve noise

it sounds bad but honestly mine and many others have the same thing and have been running for years. i think it might actually be the cam lobe tapping the lifter as it comes around. once it warms up everything has expanded just a touch and there is more room for oil between the two.
 
just take a video with sound from your a digital camera and then upload it to someplace like photobucket, youtube, etc. then post a link here.
 
You could start by pulling the valve cover and recording all valve clearances in a chart.

If they are large and you decide to fix it, you will have to order a set of buckets to reduce each of those clearances to nominal. The cams will have to be pulled to install the new buckets.
