Anyone know of a shop in Southeast MI (Preferably Metro Detroit Area) that can replace a dash on 2000 CSVT? Or any members familiar and really good with this? How much should I look to pay, and time window of repair... Man the 98+ Dash sucks... mines looks like crap and is holding me back from further interior mods

Swaping a dash is a great learning experience. you might want to try it yourself. It'll also have you a ••••load of money.

Yeah I'm in the same boat with my 2000 SVTC. Towards the end of the summer the very front far left corner (where the dash & windshield meet) started peeling up like from the heat or something??? Sucks!!!

Yeah, the best way is to just try and do it yourself. Get it all ready to tear out on a Friday night and hope that you can figure it out by the end of the weekend. It should only take about 4 hrs, so leaving the entire weekend for it you will have time to post questions while you are working on it.

Like Blu fuz said, leave some time. I have removed Ford dashes before. But never a contour until this past summer. It was pretty straight forward. I think the hardest part for me was lifting the dash out of the car alone. I think I had the dash out of the car in about an 1.5 hours. Just take mental notes or take pictures of stuff as you take it off. Then work backwards. I think the dumbest thing I have done when swapping dashes was that I accidently lost the radio harness in my escort and wedged the haress between the dash and the blower assembly. Luckily I was able to loosen a few bolts and get enough clearance to get it out without pulling the dash out again.

took me 1 hr to remove dash in an svt and 1.5 to install new dash, I had to modify some brackets as ford added a metal bracket by the steering column in later years and the dash I had was a 98 svt goin into a 99 sevt, so I had to cut bout 2inches off of it for the svt dash to fit.. I followed the dash warp install and everything was strait forward, also it was easy to clean up the wire harness behind the dash and fix any problems it has at the time.. Should take an inexperienced guy bout 2-3hrs to remove and 1.5-2hrs install..

I replaced my dash a few weeks ago. Started a post about it. I was very meticulous and careful as first time working on contour. Took me way longer than 1 hr to remove. I could do it much quicker second go around, but probably more than an hour. Someone posted a PDF of the ford service guide for replacing the dash which can help.
