hood-prop holder thingie

Just when I finished putting the drivers side strut on, I put the hood prop down, and the yellow thingie (hood prop holder ?) busted off. I want to get the stub out so I can pick one off the junkyard. How does this thing come out ? Side tabs ? I havnt been able to get it out yet.

It is just plastic, pushes into the hole. Try taking a small punch and knocking it through the hole and replacing it.

If I remember correctly, the holder goes into a square hole and has the similar clips used on license plate holders (minus the screw).

The trick is to know if there is a way to get it out without destroying it. Unless someone has one for sale I have to scrounge one at the junkyard.

Sounds like a good time for some Redline Hood Struts so the prop rod can be deleted.
