Going 70MPH on the freeway, then, out of nowhere.... BOOM...

question 1. On an SVT engine, if the timing belt snapped.....would cranking the engine over continually bend some stuff? or not cus we got OHC's or whatever? And 2. I know youve probably assessed this, but, when you turn your key over, do you hear the fuel pump hum/engage? could be the fuel pump?

No timing belt on a V6 Duratec. It is timing chain and yes,it will bend the valves (at a minimum).
 
I just had this happen to me. The timing belt idler pulley fractured and the belt lost tension. This is when I ran into the harmonic balance slip problem I wrote about in a different thread. It cost me about $440 to get the pulley and belt changed.
