GB: Upgraded Sway Bar Endlinks

These are beefed up front and rear sway bar endlinks. The fronts are adjustable from ~1/2” shorter to ~1/2” longer than stock. This will allow you to keep the sway bar closer to the proper position when lowering the car. It would also allow you to adjust the preload of the bar one way or another to fine tune the handling of the car, mostly turn-in. The increased strength of these endlinks also means they won’t break or bend. The ends are 3 piece precision rod ends with a self lubricating Teflon Kevlar race.

After I installed the fronts I noticed a great improvement in turn-in in both directions, even with them set to equal lengths (how they should be installed initially). The lack of slop in the joints means the sway bar can act faster, which gets the improved turn-in.

The rears are a good upgrade from the cheap stock units and replaces the cheap rubber bushings with poly bushings. While they are technically adjustable, the shortest/minimum setting is where they need to be. With these installed, along with the fronts, the car feels much more balanced and stable in the corners.

Unfortunately I don’t have any pics of the rears installed at this time. If I get a chance this week I will try to get a pic or two of them with the car on the ground.

I have a 98 LX, so I know my bars are a different diameter, but are the holes/mounting ends the same as SVT's.

In other words, will these work with non-SVT bars?

The ends are a carbon steel body with a 5210 precision ground ball. the center rod is swedged aluminum rod.

yes, these will work with all Contour/Mystique/Cougars. They also work on some MK1 and MK2 Mondeos (i know they changed the mounting style at some point for the rears but not sure when)

Im not positive but im pretty sure they are, i will try to find out for you. Its not something i offer but if it were needed i would help you find the necessary parts.

Oh. My. God. Perfect product at the perfect time. I have my suspension pulled apart and a "shopping cart" on Rockauto with endlinks, but I've been waiting until the last possible second to click order trying to hold out for a better alternative.

One question: do the rears use the ES generic end link bushings that come in a pack of eight, as that's what they look like. I got those to temporarily band-aid my stock end links until this full sus upgrade, and found that if I put the ends with the lip facing each other as you have pictured, the resulting "shoulder" is too wide for the thickness of our control arms, allowing play at the connection. I hand-modified mine to make one bushing per side completely flat. Please comment on this concern. But at any rate, sign me up.

neither are necessary with these ends as the teflon liner is self lubricating and seals out dirt and debris.
