My newly acquired SVT needed the steel coolant pipe that runs across between the front head and fans replaced. I picked up a good used pipe, stripped the failing powder coat, and painted it. Ordered new hoses for each end of the pipe too.
I've been working on my own vehicles for 40 years now, even did a couple year stint as a professional mechanic. I have to say that a v6 Contour is one of the most difficult vehicles I've worked on yet.. I really should have just dropped the cradle and the whole drive train out to replace that pipe. Probably would have been a few hours quicker..
Oh well, it's in now. Any tricks for "burping" the cooling system that I need to be aware of?
