Aftermarket amp with stock amp bypass

Trying to hook a sub n amp up but having trouble.. Wondering if there must be modifications to he wiring harness of the bypass to get another amp goin?
 
Grab audio signal after factory amplifier using a line out converter assuming you have a stock HU
 
I did. Not working. Got the rcas right, power cord to batt, remote wire to HU.. still haven't found the best ground but we had a serviceable one and there wasn't squat. Is there a sub/amp settin on the HU or what? What's a good ground on the Svt

What is the model of your head unit?
Ground to chasis, 3ft or less of wire for ground, ground needs to be same size or bigger than power wire.
Turn on connected to blue/white from new radio.
