Hi everyone, I have a full 3.0L from a 2004 Taurus in my CSVT. With the blistering cold weather in the Mid-Atlantic this morning, the bendix on my seems to have taken a dump. The car turned over this morning but wouldn't fire up. I kept trying, and now the bendix does not seem to be moving in nor out-- I'm getting a slight grinding sound so sounds like it's stuck barely touching the flywheel.
Anyhow, I see on AutoZone that the 2.5L starter and the 3.0L starter have slightly different part #'s. Looks like the 3.0L starter from a 2004 Taurus has a small pig-tail going to the solenoid that the 2.5 doesn't have, assuming the pictures are accurate...
3.0 Starter:

2.5 Starter:

If anyone can please let me know ASAP that would be really appreciated.... need to get one ordered ASAP. Thanks!!!!
