Hey everyone, I recently picked up a 98 svt for $300.The body is excellent but someone put a long sparkplug inthe #1 cylinder and busted the piston. The ? I have is this:I went to Ford and they wanted $288.00 for one piston and advance auto just $27.00. Is there a difference in these pistons?

order one from summitracing or some place like that. Good luck with the repairs.
make sure you inspect everything first. I would have to guess that something else could have gotten damaged at the same time. besides I don't think its a good idea, nor recommended to replace just one set of piston rings since you will be replacing the piston ....

Wow, nice spelling.
I don't, a 3.0 could be replaced in a day or so, where rebuilding the old motor will take at least a few weeks even if you have everything.
