Now where you getting this sealed theory from is beyond me.

Yes, a SEALED box IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from a ported box.

Here are 3 examples of sizes of a box.

Im saying the biggest one (of these ported boxes mind you) will be the boomiest.

And of these ported boxes, the smallest one will take MORE watts to get the same results as the biggest box.

Now, it would be UNFAIR to include the sealed box in my analogy, because its not the same beast, you will get a different sound, yes, aimed at a different genre of a listener. someone who wants....sound quality.

wait, I don't think you CAN make a sealed box of different dimensions for the same 12? (you could, but highly unneccesary?) because there is a wall you will hit eventually with the sealed box? I mean you could, but there is a cubed inch number for roundabout "peak" performance would you say, given the PARTICULAR sub, and Vehicle of coarse.

Now heres where you come in and say,

A question for the gallery of spectators....

Should I:
A. Respond in detail once again pointing out the flaws and self-contradictions of fordsvt98's argument, or
B. Let it rest since if he doesn't get it yet, he probably won't.

LOL let it die thats why I didn't get involved in this convo. Not to be rude but this guy is clueless.

Sealed = sound quality? Weird I know many people who compete in SPL comps with sealed boxes. Strange
 
Imo you should let it rest because he obviously doesn't get it and does not show any interest in wanting to learn. On the other hand, your write ups are well informed and I enjoy reading them so fire away!
 
Even if the target of your explainations doesn't get it, I'm sure there are plenty of other readers that your educating so we don't have to go over this again.
I remember when Dave (Dnewman) would jump into these debates and just shut everybody up with his knowledge. Mainly because his knowledge was just so vast that it would make you just sit back and say "huh?" and make you not want to post out of fear of being wrong and receiving another schooling in astroquantumphysicaudioscienceology.
