I discovered over the weekend that 3 out of the 4 motor mounts on my girlfriends Contour need to be replaced. The front and back ones are still intact, just dry and look like they would give out relatively soon. The one under the air box, though, is the real problem.

Am I going to need special tools or anything? I saw something in the shop manual about a Ford alignment tool, but I think if I replace them one at a time I should be alright. It's weird that this mount under the airbox would be so much more worn than the others. The engine has a noticeable downhill slant towards the drivers side. The transaxle case will thump against the frame sometimes because it's so low.

The previous owner did live on a bumpy dirt road, so maybe the vibration and abrasive dust are to blame, oh ya, and the car does have 100K+ on the clock.

Thanks for any input,
Tim
