Could be. Specs from Autozone

But I would check CKP (and connector) and Radio interference connector first. You might have a loose connector or chaffed wire.

Edit. Did you drive over a puddle or was it raining?

One other thing "Pre98". How do the wiring harness look?


the harness was fine , no lose wires no dirt or grime , and no "green stuff"

teh autozone website says the primary resistence should be between .3-1 ohm , we have one that is 1.3 ohms , a little out of spec (the haynes manual also said the primary should be about .5 + - .05 ohms so who do we believe?)

autozone site also says our secondary should be between 12.8-13.1kohms whereas we are getting between 13.65 to almost 14 Kohms

can it be that the coil pack itself is bad?
