Ever since Ford came out with the Contour, I wanted one. Long story short, in 2002 a lady ran a stop sign and totalled my '88 Tbird. She did me a favor as it had 256,000 miles on it and I was just waiting for the tranny to go out. I decided I had to have a Contour as her insurance gave me $2200 for that old Tbird (I kept it lookin' good). Found my '99, figured I wouldn't get it for what I could afford.....but did! Shortly after, I, like others, Googled Ford Contour and found this site. Since I always do the majority of the maintenance on my cars, I joined her because it seemed like a great site with loads of good information about these cars. It was and still is. I've learned a lot here.
