The MTI X1 is a 228-230 112 cam IIRC. The G5X3 is in the 237-244 ballpark(exact specs are not available to the public
) and mine is on a 114 lobe, so as you can see my cam is a fair amount larger than the X1.
As far as gears are concerned, the stock 3.42's are ideal for track days, and seeing as I like to make all around performers(look at my old TOUR')I do plan on keeping them.
Plus, the ZO6 M12 tranny with 3.42's is comparable to the regular Vette/Camaro/Firebird's MN6 with a 3.90 rear end due to it's closer ratios...
