There was an older post that also had pictures, and it recommended using a single wrap of duct tape to secure the socket to the extension. The post also recommended fitting the socket and extension on the plug, then attaching the ratchet.
I also recently found that it was necessary to remove the coil pack on my '99 SVT, this was not the case on my '98.5 SVT or my '99 SE.
