I was perusing through the BAT catalog and came across the MTX mount(driver side) they were pushing as an item that wears out. They claim it will wear over time and cause torque steer first and possibility of half shaft failure further down the road.
Is there true? Others have any experience on this?

does not get rid of all the vibrations but did get rid of some like when you start the car and during up shifts.

I've had to replace all four of mine on my mtx. I replaced them at somewhere around 100K.

If there's a jerk motion when you floor it or a shudder when over bumps, either replace mounts or fill them with polyurethane (silicone?). Also try the "es" mount inserts.

Seems like I need to do this. I do feel what I thought was torque steer when I'm accelerating, a subtle one but repeatable. And I do feel shake over small bumps and when getting on and off the gas.
So did your symptoms disappear after you replaced the mount?

I just got UNDER my car to take a look at my mount and was suprised by what I saw. There is what looks like a hydrolic dampener that is connected just to the drives side of the mount. it is about 5 inches long and 3/4 of an inch thick. Is this a stock item? What is it called, and how do I see if it is still good?

This is the "stab-o-shock", standard equipment on the SVT. This is the item that Performance Fords makes an upgrade for.

yesterday while travelling to the drag stip I was able to ge the car up to 95 with a great deal less vibration prior to installing the new tranny mount. I think that Lance should let all contour owners know that this mount must be changed as these cars change!!!!!!!

Hmmm... thanks for that. I need to take a look this mount next time I'm under the car. How do I know my mount is bad? Or is it one of those, replace it and see that it's improved situation?
