For the wire harness recall (95 Mystique V6), which i had done a few weeks ago, are they supposed to replace the wires carrying the charge between the alternator and the battery? The dealership says that they weren't supposed to replace them, but they now found that they are bad and that they have to be replaced....sounds kinda iffy if you ask me.

Thanks,
Joe

I think that's a larger wire than what's part of the harness itself.

How much are they wanting to charge you for it?

i dont have it any more but there was somthing posted on this web site that listed from FORD what was covered in the wiring harness replacement warranty and what steps to take for the mechanic.. it listed just about every wiring set under the hood...... see if you can find it.. i also think that its up to the service people if the harness is to be replaced... there was something like: if there is a concern?? i wonder who's concern they are talking about????

yes and after reading the procedure for the mechanic to replace all the wires, connectors, and the way to do it you can bet your car will never run the same again when they get finished with it.... and they gonna do all that correctly in 7 hrs.. i went to the dealer and inquired about it and the service guy says it take about a week.. he did not know what they covered, well thats what he told me.. i guess even with him jumping on the computer he should have got this message from ford.. i think they will just play game with you on the fix.. the dealers dont get paid enough to justify the amount of time it really takes to do a decent job on this problem.....

Well mine is 1.9 hours if it ever fails. I think your right that a decent job cant be done in that amount of time.

Yeah, they had my car a month, and had to replace the PCM when it shorted.

It's a PITA to do and you'd better get a loaner...
