I have taken piece of tubing from an old project of mine. I put one end to my ear and the other to the engine and could detect a leak around the small color coded vacuum lines near the fire wall. The sensor or unit located next to the IAC valve is where these lines lead. What I noticed is a prevelant hissing noise around the boot that connects 3 small vacuum lines into one large vacuum line which is running to the UIM. When I squeeze the rubber fitting with my hands, the hissing seems to slow down. I have checked this piece up close and see no cracks or leaks. My question is ... Does the 3 into 1 vacuum grommet on my Duratec V6 need to be super tight around all of the connected vacuum lines? In other words, is this rubber piece something that must be replaced once tampered with?

You need to replace the whole vacuum bundle, it is not sold in pieces as far as I know....
