Well, Rick (Buckshot) and I were talking at SpringZing a bit about how it'd be nice to see the Contour and Cougars get together for the big meets (such as SZ), instead of breaking them up into smaller meets between two (very similar) cars.
Last year there were two major Cougar get-togethers, CougarFest and HCKC (Hardcore Kitty Convention). This year the two events have been combined into one major blowout, and is keeping the name CougarFest. (http://www.cougarfest.com) By combining the two fests, we're now able to take the best parts of each and make the ultimate get-together. This year we'll be meeting in Indy again, and staying at the same hotel as last year for HCKC. We've got dyno time, a drag strip, and an autocross track all reserved for the weekend's activities, as well as a lot of manufacturers coming out for the show. There are thousands of dollars in giveaways, and raffles held on FastCougar almost biweekly to fund the event. I'd personally like to see as many Contours come and join us as possible... How does everyone else feel about this?

We tried, but the cougar guys ade it pretty clear we weren't welcome as participants at Cougarfest and when we did invite them to SZ in the past, there wasn't any intrest from them... nor the Focus owners either. -mark

yep every year this question is raised, but they don't seem to take too kindly to mixed meets.
I think the other issue is there are some people that have to save all year just to make it to on national meet, so they feel they can't afford to go to two, let alone get the vacation time for both. That's the only other thing I can think of aside from them just being poopyheads

I'd love to go to one of their big meets, but they seem to be a little hesitant for any outsiders (AKA Anything non-cougar) to show up. I would go, if only there was a welcome-ness for us, not a brick wall.

Let me talk to Trevor (head guy on NECO) since I'm a moderator over there and see what his direct feelings are. He's been a pretty good guy to work with on other things so I don't know why this wouldn't be a viable option.

I don't understand the big deal, I mean we're all in the same family (CDW-27) and we're all enthusists for sure. With our cars taking the same mods I think we could all learn from each other and whats wrong with that BTW, we had a Cougar at our show and I don't think anyone made him feel unwelcomed, did they? If this gets worked out, I'd love to combine the events
