Thanks guys, the envy helps. I did just want to be first, but some people have beat me to the punch, they just may not be on the boards. The one thing that will remain true, my car will not get rims, nor graphics, ground effects (maybe SVT) so it will retain it's understated look. I like having a sleeper, what can I say... I will give SOP impressons, but dyno numbers will wait until I get the "other work"(don't ask, sectret) done to really scare the pants off of you all. Ohh, bad mental picture... I may or may not be able to go to the SZ, but for sure I will make it to more than one CEG gathering this year to make up for not going to any in '00. Hey! I could make them a BNM tax write off! Wahoooooo. Schedule permitting, I'll be there! I will be on the stock clutch/diff until one of them breaks. I am doing everything I can to eliminate wheel hop for now with no major work, i.e. ES MMI and my engine torque straps on (if they work with the jack shaft going across)along with ginger launches. Expect a fully documented install with digital camera pics to be up on my site ASAP after the install which may not be soon unless we get a warm up... I want it on too guys, but I'm not willing to freeze my balls off to get it done! Do you think the ATX is up to the task, Brad? If not, would syn. fluid, a shift kit and maybe a HD tranny fluid cooler make it marginal at least? I knew someone who put an R-Trim Vortec on their BONE STOCK 1990 LX 5.0 AOD and smoked two trannys in 3 months....that is what makes me almost scared to buy one of these things! I kept telling the moron that if he bought the shift kid and cooler than I would install them for FREE........ he finally BURNED THE CAR and claimed it on the insurance, only to get busted a month later!! Now this guy is a car salesman at a Ford dealership in Winston Salem NC! MTOSVT, Muscle Motors is selling the kit for $2999 cash price, add 2% or so for using a credit card, add a battery relocation kit and tax... http://www.musclemotors.com. They have been doing a little advertising on the NECO board, same kit number for SVTs, SEs, GLs. ikarus1, I have no idea about reliability of an auto trans with this application. I have a MTX and didn't ask the questions of Vortech. I do know, however, tranny cooler wouldn't hurt! I suggest you call Vortech and ask to speak with the head of the sport compact division. Is there an engine management chip included with the kit? I don't imagine the stock PCM's would be up to it, without serious remapping... and wouldn't the SVT need different chips than the regular 2.5L, because of the different cams, compression ratio, fuel injectors, etc.? I ask because you said the kit numbers are the same for all of them... The listed figures are for the SVT... what are they for a regular 2.5L? They don't have a SC style of chip. They manipulate the fuel curve using boost sensitive pressure switch and a HO fuel pump. The web site says, "includes all fuel system upgrades needed", what that means exactly I don't know. When I ordered it, they didn't ask for what year or ECU code.
