MTOSVT, Muscle Motors is selling the kit for $2999 cash price, add 2% or so for using a credit card, add a battery relocation kit and tax... http://www.musclemotors.com. They have been doing a little advertising on the NECO board, same kit number for SVTs, SEs, GLs.

ikarus1, I have no idea about reliability of an auto trans with this application. I have a MTX and didn't ask the questions of Vortech. I do know, however, tranny cooler wouldn't hurt! I suggest you call Vortech and ask to speak with the head of the sport compact division.

The info wasn't on their home site, they posted it on the NECO boards... Just call and ask for the NECO price on the SC kit. Same kit for Cougar/SVT and non SVT. HTH

Is there an engine management chip included with the kit? I don't imagine the stock PCM's would be up to it, without serious remapping... and wouldn't the SVT need different chips than the regular 2.5L, because of the different cams, compression ratio, fuel injectors, etc.? I ask because you said the kit numbers are the same for all of them...

The listed figures are for the SVT... what are they for a regular 2.5L? I can't put one in mine for a long time (warranty for another 98000 miles), but it might be interesting to find a dented-up (or maybe wrecked) SE for cheap, and make a project car!

I'm willing to bet the kits are all the same with the added distinction of having to know:

Year
Model
Computer Code

Each chip will have to burn custom burned (I.E. SuperChip)

Now the question is which computers have they already mapped???

They don't have a SC style of chip. They manipulate the fuel curve using boost sensitive pressure switch and a HO fuel pump. The web site says, "includes all fuel system upgrades needed", what that means exactly I don't know. When I ordered it, they didn't ask for what year or ECU code.

Both the figures are listed on the Vortech web site. 251 HP and 212 TQ regular Duratec and 294 HP and 218 TQ SVT.
