I did read it.
Now read what I said again. No one ever said that the Falcon and the Futura were/are different cars.

Pep Boys has the right to the name so they can't use it?!?!?
That's total BS. Might as well get Microsoft to sue over the Explorer name, and AOL over the Navigator name too!
EDIT: WTF is Pep Boys going to 'invent' that will use that name anyway?!?!?

Ford used "Explorer" as an options package on the F-series up until the early 80's, so they used it first there. Pep Boys uses Futura as a line of tires. Its all BS but thats corprate America. GM can't make a "Judge" option package for the new Goat because someone else owns it. The Nova had to be renamed for Mexico because in Spanish: No=no and Va=go. They wouldn't by the Chevy No-go, would you? I think there were restrictions on the Lincoln LS name as well. This stuff has happened alot, and will continue to happen.

I see what you're saying...same reason Ford can't bring back the GT40 name, someone purchased the rights to it. Still BS though.

It's a mid-size sports sedan, so it fits the profile.
It's not built on the Mazda6 platform currently, as the 'Futura' was supposed to be, but maybe by '06 it will be.
