Headunit: Eclipse CD3422 EQ/Crossover: Audiocontrol 3.1 Front speakers:"Custom" 7in. Vifa mids and MB Quart tweeters Rear Speakers: 6 1/2 in. MB Quart Components Amp for fronts and rears: PPI A300 Amp for subs: PPI A300.2 Subs: 2 JL Audio 10w3's in JL's High Output box. Capacitor: Knukonceptz digital Wiring is a mix of knukonceptz and local audio shop. The pic showing my box is an old one. At the time I had the amps mounted on the floor behind the box but this took up way too much space so now the amps are on the sides of the trunk and the box is pushed all the way up against the back seat. Also, the pic shows an audiocontrol 4.1 "it's been swapped for a 3.1". Overall I'm fairly happy with my setup. The only problems I have with it is that this car has way too many rattles "which I never seem to get around to fixing" and the Quart tweeters "titanium" are a bit harsh.

Oh, I bout forgot! I also have just finished my false floor for the trunk. It's all finished with black felt and it fits pretty well, methinks. I used a 30" silver piano hinge for the spare tire door. The trap door to get to the spare tire and a couple tools is (IIRC) 32" long and 14.5" tall. The door is finished with a simple silver handle and I put the Ford badge from the front grill a few inches above the handle. Bling.

i also built something like that. i think i made it out of a 3/4" wood sheet. although i don't have a door like yours, mine is in two halves. it worked out pretty good.

Not very clean? My 10s are extremely clean. These subs are some of the cleanest sounding subs available on the market today. But to each his own...
As far as thoughts go, you could upgrade to DLS of JL Audio. DLS is a company out of Sweden that's just started importing their equipment into the US. I've heard nothing but good reports from users and installers. Their about as expensive as Audiobahns and hit just as hard, if not harder. Quality of sound is supposedly better than excellent. But that's jsut based on what others have told me, unfortunately, i have not had a chance to hear them myself. But i will soon, a friend of mine is installing some in his truck. But that's just $.02

Agreed, I am so disapointed in my Audiobahn subs

I didn't say these were the cleanest subs, i said they were some of the cleanest. It depends on the Audiobahn subs you've been working with. My sound excellent, even when i compare them to my sisters JL 13W7. Ya, her's hit hard as hell, but they draw so much damn power and don't sound all that gr8 IMO. The flame basket audiobahn subs have had some major issues, and still do, but these new ALUM##Q's are supurior to most other audiobahns. They can actually handle the suggested power rating on them. I'm extremely pleased with mine.

i really can't believe you just said that an audiobahn sub sounded better than a w7 (and the w7 isn't the top sq sub either, but still....). either your sister needs to shoot her installer, or you have a very poor sense of quality. audiobahns aren't all crap, but they ain't that good either.

The Stryke AV 12 would definitely sound better than an audiobahn.. probably handle more and a lot more linear displacement. Probably cheaper for what you get too. I'll agree that audiobahns can sound decent.. but not all that great.
Sorry if i'm coming off rude.
MxRacer.. enjoying that Stryke AV?

now that makes my nipples hard
It's good to know that I can arouse you.
I found that the best way to build my system was to go one piece at a time. All that's left now is the subs...those will hopefully be in the car in about a month.

Sorry for the link and no direct pic. But I would say it might just be worth the click.
Definetly one of the most interesting setups on here, go look at it now! One of Dnewma04's zany ideas, and surprisingly, it didn't turn out looking ugly like most of his ideas

Most importantly, how does it sound? Comparable to a normal sealed 12" or pair of 10"'s?

That's what I'm doing now. I'm only at headunit and CD changer right now, and I might end up selling those two together for $650 and investing in the 6.5" Pioneer DVD headunit, but who knows. I NEED some subs though, it's warming up in Ohio and I can't roll around all natural.
Oh, and I picked up some Pioneer 5x7s at Wal-Mart for only $26! They had to have been returns, because the box was all beat up and some stuff was missing, but thats a great upgrade for my back-seat passengers
