Ok, the car idles high when i have the maf plugged in, when i un plug it my engine light comes on and it idles normal for the most part. Some times at lights it will drop and have a bad all most stalling idle. If i give it gas when it drops its fine again for the time being, if i dont it will either stall or pick back up. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a pcv valve i can replace the one thats on there now but i dont know where it is if anyone could help. And where are the 2 o2 sensors that i might check for? - picks would help too -

Year?
Engine?
Mileage?

What happens with the MAF unplugged has no bearing.

High idle can be caused by a bad ECT, non-seating throttle body, sticking IAC, or vacuum leaks.

And a bad throttle cable. (frayed) my firends 95 Duratec MTX with Traction control. that's got to be longest thing. Actually it was two cables. And they're not cheap.
Besides Carbon plugged EGR passages behind the TB gasket the back side Of the TB had 1/4" thick oilly gunk build up and the fixed /adjustable idle (left side/next the TPS) was completely plugged.
After all passages cleaned, IAT cleaned (actually it wasn't all that bad and the MAF wires checked (clean) then we discoverd the sticking cable.
