can any body tell me which wire coming out of the ignition switch would be a good source for the 12v power of some autometer gauges. wire colors would help a lot. also, on the back side of the dimmer switch, which wire controls the actual dimming function. i want to be able to dim the gauges with the dash lights. thanks for your help guys. my car is all torn apart and i have no where to go from here. at least my senders are already installed. it is just the wiring that is giving me a fit, thanks guys.

you'll get 12v power in start and run off the green wire at the ignition switch. you'll get a variable voltage appropriate for instrument illumination off the blue/orange wire at the panel dimmer rheostat.
