This may sound like a dumb question but i have no idea what the IAT is. I'm thinking it's the sensor that was attached to the air intake box when i had my factory installed. Could someone enlighten me with what the BAT IAT relocation kit does?

thanks

well I don't know anything about the bat kit... but the IAT (inlet air temperature) sensor tells the computer how cold/hot the air coming in is, obviously if the air is cold it will pump more fuel, and if it is hot it will pump less. so if you relocate the IAT to a "cooler" spot the computer will think it has cool air coming in... there fuel pumping a little more fuel. Maybe a worth while mod. But I doubt it since you are really not running cooler air it may run a little richer...Not the best thing IMO

no it is a little two wire sensor that is in the middle of your intake pipe.

ok i know which one your talking about then. when i changed my intake i had no idea where to put that so i just put a small hole in the front of my k&n and stuck it in there. I was looking at some intake pictures and saw some different things. On of them was putting it where the intake goes over the maf adaptor.
Does anyone know what the IAT reloaction kit does?

hold on hold on middle of my intake pipe?? Um... man i dont know where anything goes anymore. Does anyone have any pictures that could help me out here. I had a SC intake before and hated it so i decided to get the bat inlet pipe and a regular intake with a maf adaptor. However money was an issue to so intake pipe yet, just using the accordian tube. Where does this IAT go!!!! OMG i'm freakin out.....

I just looked at that BAT kit, It is very quites simple, okay you only have three nipples correct? and your IAT is located in the factory air box, say you put on an open element filter... which you did, the you would have no where to put the IAT (because the airbox is gone) so you made a place in your filter. All the BAT kit does is they give you a T fitting so you can put two of the hoses together in one hole thus freeing up on open port now, then you can use that open port to put you IAT sensor in. This is really quite simple and you can pick up a T fitting at the local hardware store for like 5 cents. Do you understand it?

ok Qwk your the man i totally understand now!!! Thank you so much. So now i'm off to the hardware store to pick up this t fitting. I'm assuming from your post that 2 hoses now connect to this t fitting and it opens up a spot to put the IAT in.
Thank you so much for cleaning up this misunderstanding on my part.
