Also this forum does it's best to stay work friendly and having avatars gives people one more place to try to post something non work friendly.
My GF is on a mazda forum and she keeps the avatars turned off while she is at work because of the pictures that people have in them.

This is the cleanest forum I have been too,, you would be hard pressed to find another forum that is as easily navigable. It makes getting info/sharing info much easier.
