Does anyone here have the physical dimensions of a ported 2001 3.0l exhaust port, were it meets the flange. Are they ported to match the gasket(I asssume not), or do you go above and beyond the gasket and have to modify the gasket itself. I pretty much need its dimensions, Length and width, not flow. Thanks

DO NOT use the stock gaskets. They are too small.

Only use Fel-Pro exhaust gaskets

3L Oval: roughly 47mm x 25mm
Ported 3L: ~50-51mm x ~30-31mm

Fel-Pro Gasket: 53mm x 32mm
Stock Gasket: 50mm x 26mm

You do not want the exhaust port larger then either the gasket or the header inlet. I did everything in 1mm increments.

Do not forget the entire shape of the port matters too.
Do the majority of opening work in the short radius bends (ceiling)

For Ref - My header inlet ports are roughly 54mm x 33mm

Awesome data. I figured you would have it. So I take it the felpro gaskets are easily widened. Whats the part# on the gasket you guys are using. How does the street flight headers match up to these(once ported)? Does the primaries match up real good, better when ported I imagine.

I just realized you meant the header, I was thinking exhaust outlet. You using MSDS or streetflight? Warmonger primaries were 2" I beleive I read, but I thought I also read that the production ones are smaller.

I am running MSDS headers that I opened up the port flanges to match the ovaled primary piping.

The sizes I gave are for the gaskets as they come.

I don't think that the stock exhaust gaskets are bad to use. They are already significantly larger than the actual port diameter. If you port to the stock gaskets you will still get an improvement.
Now the felpro gaskets are thicker and more forgiving for imperfections. Those are what I used on my turbo headers.

1. Maybe the 2.5L ports but not stock 3L ports.
OEM gaskets are as tall and just a hair wider then the stock 3L oval port exhaust ports.

I made the ports have a nice 1mm (each) stepped transition from exhaust port to gasket to header inlet. Nothing abrupt. I am of the school that if I am acutally going to do it I may as well do it the best that I can.

If your respective header/manifold flange is smaller then port accordingly.
