Scott, I have a 2000 with the one piece "focus" shifter tower (looks just like the pictures in this thread)(which i still think is odd that it even needs a plate - must be the cable feed angles through the floorpan that are just a bit off  ). Matt

Matt,
With the short throw it extends the bottom half of the shifter below the pivot ball. On the 2000 models the cable will rub on the bottom plate below the shifter. With the new bottom plate on the outside of the car (below the shifter) instead of inside on the bottom of the shifter it gives the added clearance (about 0.125"-0.250") for the shifter to work properly. You will see that the cable assembly will sit slightly into the oval opening in the floor board with the new shifter. The plate will sandwich the floor board between the plate and shifter and allow the cable to sit down into the opening. Works very well...it is what I have in my car and I am VERY happy

Okay guys the order was placed.
We ordered so many that they had to manufacture 9 for us.
I will let you know when they get to Ray. I think that they may have shpped some already. If they did. Those who paid first, get shifters first.
Like I said, Not sure if any shipped today from Steeda, but the order was placed. Let you guys know where we are in a day or two.

Well, I would say yes but Ray was telling me that the price went up from steeda 4 dollars from when we started this GB and they wouldn't give him anymore of a break. Sorry, wish we could.
