Man I've been waiting for months for this GB and now I may have to back out.

My car has just been nothing but problems and today it won't start again. This is like the last straw. I'm going to try to get rid of this car ASAP if i can.

I hope this wasn't all for nothing

These are the two different plates we have been referring to. The 99 and older models will typically use the small 1/4" thick plate on the top of the shifter tower. The 2000 models will use the large 1/8" thick plate that goes under the car on the bottom of the shifter.

Sorry it took so long, been real busy

I'm still in. I was just pissed. Maybe this car won't piss me off so much if it had a nice shifter.

Haven't heard from Eric in a while but I think the price is around $105 shipped?

The plate is required for the shifter to work in our cars. The shifter is really for a Focus but with the use of one of the plates it works perfect. What plate you need depends on the type of tower you have. All pre 2000 and some 2000 models will use the smaller 1/4" plate and most 2000 models will use the larger 1/8" plate. The Focus has a taller shift tower then the Contour...the plates make up the difference and allow the shifter to fit and function properly. It will not work without them. Both installations are very easy. The 2000 model requires a little more work only because you need to get under the car and get behind the heat sheild (does not have to be removed completly). It can be done in less then 1 hour. Pre-2000 models have been done in less than 30 minutes.

So, with 98's and 99's, getting under the car isn't required? I'm still in regardless, just wondering...
