Well it depends all on the plates. I am not trying to rush our fellow CEG'er in anyway as I want the end product to be of the best quality. I am guessing that it may take a week or 2 to make the plates. Then it is pay up time and then ship time.

Keyser and thejms,

I need to know if you have the one piece shift tower or the multi piece design. Look at the pic in the links and tell me what you have. That way I can let our plate guy know.

Keyser,

Rumor has it that 2000 had both styles in them. Could you look for me. Your shifter tower will either be like 3" x 3" and silver or 4" x 5" and black. I will have pics up later.

will I need to get under the car? I have limited tools, time and mechanical skills. I am getting more and more concerned that this install could be more dificult than I want to tackle.

I would feel better about the gb, and installation, if I had some instructions from someone that has already busted their knuckles and made the mistakes, so that I don't have to.

Here you go. Instructions from first group buy.

I think that they may be on like page 20 or so, but they are there.

Just so I am on the right page. This is the proper installation for the 2000? and the 'plate' I am buying is the one that will go underneath my car? Do I have to make my own gasket?

Finaly got my plate made up and my shifter installed! Works great and I even used the centering spring without any problems whatsoever For you guys with the 2000 SVT this is the way to go...it will not crack, break or leak. I used Y2KSVT's instructions and instead of using plexiglass I used a piece of .125 aluminum plate and a piece of .125 closed cell foam rubber for a gasket. If you have a 2000 SVT and are intersted in a plate PM me and we can work a deal.

With Y2KSVT's instructions as my guide here are the pic's I took throughout the install. You can also go to web page for the pic's and read the captions to each pic.

so do i have to remove the shift tower to know what size plate i need?

also, i recall hearing that the Focus shift tower is better. would this be a good time to replace it? or is that pointless with the short shifter?
