and it makes a moaning sound like a leak of some sort of air pump or valve? Anybody have this problem, sometimes revvving it, it clears it and engine idles fine whether it is doing it or not. It is pretty loud when it does it too.Other times I can just be driving on cold days and it does it?

It's called moosing.....
Nice informative post. Anyhow, basically it is your IAC valve going bad. Do a search on "moosing" and you'll find some ideas on fixing it, although the only real fix is to put a new IAC on your car.

No, it doesn't mean the IAC is going bad. It means that there is a resonance in the air bypass tube that goes from the accordian tube to the IAC input. The throttle hang fix will clear this up, but it is not a problem at all other than it can bother (or embarass) the driver.

The Search feature (temporarily not availble) would have pulled up this thread with a moosing tutorial: moosing explained

gonna try a 1/2 inch---3 foot piece of hose and see if this fixes the moosing and seafoam the throttle body/ intake area. Clean the IAC too.
