I have to replace my fuel pump. I was thinking about replacing it with a walbro unit. I know that some individuals here in the forums have done this and i was wondering what part number they have used? What have been your results/opinions? Any other suggestions?

could the svt focus fuel pump be used on a return style fuel system?

Do you have a part number of a walbro unit?

If you're in need of a used one, let me know as I've got a unit from my 2000 SVT for sale. Drop me a PM if interested.

Thanks,
Rick

That part number is the entire assembly with a 255 l/hr smart pump. (not just the pump itself that you have to rig to work in place of the original smart pump)

i replaced just the pump about 5 or 6 months ago. i bought it from BAT. now i think it's going bad again. when i have low fuel it starts to studder and fall flat on it's face at high rpm's (right now only heavy throttle). however, when i changed the pump out last time, i somehow cracked the fuel level sensor so my guage always reads full . so i figure i'm gonna need to get a new pump unit (not just the pump) this time around. it's like 213 bucks.........so if the focus svt pump unit will work for 80 i'm game! and hopefully it won't die on me in another 4-6 months

demon. what makes the fsvt pump unit better? just curious. and why is it so much cheaper then our units? and one last thing cause all these questions are making me feel like a dumba$$, but is it a direct fit, as in any mods that need to be done to make fit?

Ok Demon, I looked into your advice. It seems that the part # you listed is only for the sending unit according to Ford Parts Online. This part does indeed fall into that price range. However, there are actually two different fuel pumps available for the SVT Focus. the '02 and up Foci receive a different pump than earlier models. These are priced from $180 and up depending on where you look. Do you happen to know what the correct part # is for the "255 lph smart pump" that you speak of? My car was displaying the symptoms of an ailing pump before I parked it. It would run fine in the lower rpm ranges but above 5500 rpm power falls off severely but the computer does not throw any codes. So I would definetely be interested in this part. Any help would be appreciated.
