Definitely not an expert here but sounds like plugs or plug wires could be at fault

how long since the coil's been replaced, spark plugs, spark plug wires, cleaned throttle body??

on a side note, how is your wiring? Have you had the wiring harness replaced?

Take this advice with a grain of salt, since my 95 Duratec is currently down with an ignition problem, but I had these same symptoms for about a year, and finally was able to correct it by installing the motorcraft OEM plugs. For the last 6 months since the install, I haven't had any of the symptoms you mentioned above.

It might be worth a try.

Try unplugging the throttle position sensor and then drive the car. It will not run properly, but if those symptoms disappear, it's a good chance that is the problem.

same symptoms as listed above and i have replaced the fuel pump/filter/sock filter/plugs/wires and she still bucks at under a 1/3 tank. The only thing i can think of is maybe the darn pump is going again? I replaced it once at 30K and again at 60K. I have been meaning to throw in some OEM plugs and wires when I get around to it, to see if that helps, but who knows.

Unplug the MAF sensor and see if the engine runs better. If it does (it will throw a CEL), clean the sensor. If cleaning it does not restore the engine's performance, replace the MAF sensor.

Be certain you clear the KAM after cleaning or replacement.
