I just did something really stupid and rear ended another car with my SVT. The grille is broken and the front bumper has some deep scratches on it. All the lights are OK. Is my dealer going to have trouble replacing the grille and if necessary, the front bumper? They are an authorized SVT dealer so I hope they can get them. If not, what about Bill Jenkins? The dealer is closed now so I'm doing this now because I don't want to wait for their answer.

I ordered a grill from my dealer no problem, arrived in 3 days. As for your bumper, very doubtful you'll need a new one, they'll just pull it off, sand it down and re-finish it. I had my grill replaced and both bumpers refinished after an accident last year. Bumpers are very tough and can usually be salvaged if the accident was minor.

Hey i work at a bodyshop and yes the dealer can replace those parts put you are looking at alot of money from the dealer. Here we have two company's that make oem looklike parts, just like oem but are made by aftermarket company that cost half less then the dealer and almost as good as the dealer. If insurance is paying take to the dealer, if you are paying buy the aftermarket oem parts.

Since it just happened, no one has looked at it yet. There is a tear on one side about 3 inches long. I'm hopeful that everything will work out. I have $500 deductible (I have 3 kids on my policy) so the dealer is the way I'll be going.

Assuming the damage is cosmetic consider Mr. Bill Jenkins for parts (the grill anyway for sure, it is a breeze). Always had great service from him and you cant beat his price for oem stuff.
I would think you could find a body shop that would paint the bumper cheaper than a dealer, replace the grille yourself and presto magnifico, a beautiful SVT.
If you are happy with your dealer, use 'em. I cant stand the ones out here in LA, they will try and steal the cane from a blind man if they think they can make a quick buck.

I'm going to use my dealer. They do very good work and I've used them many times in the past. And since I've got $500 deductible, I seriously doubt I'll come out ahead dealing with anyone else.
