I dunno. I always reckon it's so heat can escape the top of the engine? And to look pimp?

It's part of the pcv system I believe, but not directly connected to the pcv valve or anything. I think it just sucks a very small amount of air into the intake manifold to aid in combustion. I can't remember for sure, so don't flame me.
