Did a search for trunk leaks and did not find an exact match to my water leak. After a rain, I get water accumulating in my tail light lens assembly. I remove the reverse lights bulb(s) to let the water escape. I will have to inspect the plastic lens throughly for any cracks. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

Edit: trunk added to subject.

Do you have water streaming down into the trunk when the hood is up? If so, you have the famous leaky trunk syndrome familiar to Contique owners (yes, somehow the water seems to accumulate in the actual backup light housings). I dealt with mine this past weekend. The gasket between the taillight and trunk metal shrunk, so water was leaking in from the top. I cleaned off the mating surfaces and used this 3M Strip-Caulk stuff that Eastwood sells (www.eastwoodco.com). So far so good.

Yup, that's what happens when I open my trunk lid; water streams out of the backup light housing. I will remove the light assembly and inspect the gasket/mating surface this weekend. I have the 3M material sitting in my toolbox. I figured I had the infamous leaky trunk syndrome, but I was not sure from reading previous posts and repair solutions.
Thanks for defining my problem.
