Holy crap.

I had such a good time. Traffic jams and missed turns aside ( ), it was a great drive, great weather, great company, and great food. I'm still stuffed. Thanks to everyone for bringing out so much good stuff to eat...I didn't even sample everything that looked tasty. And the idea of running out to Cooter's Garage was just perfect.

Anyway, I just wanted to post. Hope everyone else made it home OK! Nice meeting everyone that I met!

I drove back to 234 but I could not find bull run park after picking up my car. I drove around for 2 hours looking for it all over the place but was not able to find it....

Did anybody happen to pick up my GF's pirex container ?? it is glass and has a blue lid and some stuff inside of it that nobody would know what it was unless somebody remembered me telling them. Let me know if somebody does have it so I can arange to get it back.

Agreed!

Definitely a great time. Weather couldn't have been better.
Drive length was perfect and meeting Cooter was surreal!

Thanks to everyone who brought such great food.

Craig-
Sorry about your son's head - I should've caught that ball!

moxnix-
I have the container and crackers! I will give them to you on Friday if you can make it to the Pub. If not, PM me so we can make other arrangements.

Jeremey-
Ice cream hit me hard when I got home.
But it was worth it!

Hey everybody, I had a really super time. It was great meeting everyone. Great cars! I've got the pics downloaded on my PC and I'm gonna post em' tonight. It was really a plus meeting Cooter! That was so cool! Man, meeting a childhood icon. Once again, I apologize for overlooking the $7 to get in the park. Pete, I feel ya on the ice cream bro, but dayum, ya gotta take the hit sometimes. LOL!

It really was a great day all in all I couldn't agree more. Plus we really had a great showing. Our division will be the envy of the boards for a while.

Andy, I'll be hitting you up for that DMD install sometime man. Thanks for the offer.

Moxy, I'm sorry you guys didn't make it back man. I should have traded phone number with you. Oh well, at least you got your car back. I'm still CSVTless.

I'll see some of you next week at the SG Pub.

Nice Pics!! I got to show my wife that it was a fun harmless safe time for her husband and child.

Seriously, thanks for your concerns fellas, but the kid is fine. I think he was surprised more than hurt .

Pete: glad to hear that. I should be at the pub next time and can get it then. Did anybody actualy try eating it without me being there to let them know what it was ?

Kokopellian: It is good to have my car back sorry we could not get back to eat. I thought that I should have gotten somebodys phone number after I had left and by that time it was too late.

My GF took some pictures (I did not want to take any while I was driving unlike somebody *cough* driving a red tour *cough* who almost ran off the road while taking a picture.)

At cooters

http://users.erols.com/moxnix/cooters/Cooters_lineup.jpg

Here is a nice picture of quite a few of the cars o nthe way there.

http://users.erols.com/moxnix/cooters/Getting_there_is_half_the_fun.jpg

Here was when she first got the camera out and just took a picture.

http://users.erols.com/moxnix/cooters/Just_take_a_picture.jpg

Do I even need to explain this one ?

http://users.erols.com/moxnix/cooters/Pete's_ass.jpg

Here is a couple of pictures of quite a bit of the group strung out going up a hill.

http://users.erols.com/moxnix/cooters/The_uphill_battle_1.jpg
http://users.erols.com/moxnix/cooters/The_uphill_battle_2.jpg

and the last pic I am posting this is going around a little turn in the road.

If anybody wants the high quality version of these pics (600+k each) just send me a PM.

Ahh so that is what happened. I thought I had seen you taking some pics before while you were driving and when I saw you almost run off the road and then come back on and be swerving all over the place to keep the car under control I just figured you were trying to take a pic then.

I almost never drive with my windows down much because everytime I do I have to keep my hair from blowing out the back window

Hey everyone, here is a link to some of the pics I took at the cruise. If anyone sees themselves and would like a higher quality pic I will email it to you. Just PM me. I also have a video clip of Cooter's song with the band. Man, that was really a fun day! I'm also going to post the links in the Pics and Videos forum and I'll direct them to this post as well since we all took various pics. Enjoy!

Yeah, I had a great time as usual. Sorry the ice cream hit you guys so hard. I hope everyone else had a better experience than others . But I'm glad to hear you sacrificed your bodies for the taste

Pete: like I was saying before about the tape, if you want to send it my way once you're finished reviewing it let me know.

If anyone has any DV video, I'm looking at making a small slide show/video demo of the Capital Fall Cruise. So I'll be collecting all of the pictures and such. If I can get enough video and pictures I could probably burn some DVDs if there was an interest in it.

BuchSVT: Hey man, hope you and your gal got home alright. After Proliphik and I stopped at the rest area, we looked at the map to ensure that we were headin' in the right direction and realized that 66 does take you to 95.. but into DC first. So we altered our course. Aside from that though, we had a great time.. maybe us Richmond guys should get together when our minds aren't so preoccupied with other important things at hand I think you guys know what I mean .

Everyone, my gal and I had a great time. Great cars, great food, good people, good day

Hey Guys,

I had a fantastic time...I wish one of my kid's or someone had come with me to enjoy the ride. I left home at 8:00 a.m. and got home at 8:00 p.m. 260 miles later and still had a 1/4 tank left My left leg is pretty sore after all that clutch action. I am realy glad I decided to come on this cruise Great group of people and great food...I held off the food coma until I got home and then it was lights out

Cooter's was a great idea and meeting Cooter himself was real cool

Some of that drive got pretty wild especially when we got mixed up with the crotch rockets. I was sure I was going to see some bikes flying and then when proliphik hit the shoulder at about 70 mph oh sh!t...glad you hung onto it, that could have been ugly.

I need to get a bigger flash card for my camera

Jeremy...I am checking around work to see if I can get my Hi-8 video transfered to a disk. If so I'll get it to you as soon as I can.

Here is a couple of pic's from Cooter's

And me hamin' it up with Cooter

We got home just fine. I know my way around up there a little bit, I used to travel to Centreville twice a month. We definitely need to get together down here sometime, my girl mentioned that she and your female friend had a lot in common (VCU, both education majors) stuff like that. Anyway, holler at me through a PM or whatever and we can get together sometime.

Scott: if you dont have any luck at work getting it transfered let me know. I have access to a digital8 camcorder but I am not sure if it will play hi8 tapes or not. If it will not play them if your camcorder has video out I could hook that up to my computer at home and get the video that way if you could loan me the tape/camcorder for a night or two.

If you are coming to the next friday night get together and you have not gotten anything by then bring the tape and let me take a crack at it.

I'll try to look up info for the camera and see if it will play hi8 tapes.

Jeremy,
PM me your address and I will mail it to you ASAP.
I watched it tonight - not a lot of footage, but some nice shots when my girlfriend was out the sunroof.

Oh, and a nice surpirise in the video...
I got Sam driving off the highway onto the shoulder on tape!!!

Man , I wish I could've gone . It looks like you guys had a stellar time . The "Dukes" show was a major part of my childhood , and I would've loved to have seen Cooter's joint (and Cooter himself , for that matter) . It's definately on the list of many things I want to see in the (near ?) future . While you guys were having fun driving like nuts & meeting Cooter , I was installing H&Rs & SVT struts on my bro's '95 SE . It would've been too much for me anyways , I needed to be bright-eyed & bushy-tailed to autocross early sunday morning . Maybe next time ...

He must have been watching your girlfriend poping out of the sunroof for a little too long

when I first saw her head out the roof I was like WTF are they doing there ? and then when you did that flyby getting everybody on tape I figured it out. I wish my GF could have gotten a picture of you guys doing the flyby but by the time she managed to get her camera back out you were to the front of the line

Good to hear everyone got home safe and sound..

Some of you may have remembered that I had cleaned one of my headlights with 1500grit sandpaper and 2000grit sandpaper by wetsanding.. a few weeks back, and tried to polish it with some turtle wax polishing compound, but it didn't end up cleaning it up. well, when I got home I tried a 3M plasic cleaner, and within 2 minutes of rubbing on... boom, clean!

Here are some pictures. Oh, and Jason, Loudnquick... I purchased that new filter. Wow! The acceleration is soo smooth, and the car feels completely different under hard acceleration! Thanks for the tip!

The end result... clean!

And here's the $24 filter.

By the way, what is this sensor.. and do I need to intigrate it into my intake?

Hey no problem for the tip jeremy, im glad it worked out for you. That sensor at is the temperature sensor I believe correct guys? Gimme some help on that one, and I did integrate mine in the end of it, by drilling a hole and sliding the sensor in and using epoxy to seal and hold the sensor in place.

It sounds a helluva alot deeper doesnt it?

Scott, I did end up clearing up the other light, I was trying to show that in the last 2 or 3 pictures. I picked up the 3m plastic cleaner at Car Quest.

Sam, sorry man, I didn't see you at all. I was probably just staring at the tack and listening to the engine.

Jason, yes, I probably was gunnin' it, I really like the new sound it gives. It may be me, but it does feel a little better. I'm sure the car can breath a little better now..

I'm noticing that the filter needs to be attached better than just stuffin' it in to the hole, it also needs some kind of bracket so that it doesn't clank around under the hood up front. Once I get some piping system integrated, I'll probably end up drilling a whole for the sensor.

Dude you are a brave soul! i thought that's what it looked like!!!! you need a MAF adapter for that cone filter!!! you just stuffed the filter in? its going to fall out there is nothing to hold it on there... if your filter comes off you run a chance of sucking a lot of dust and dirt into your engine man! get an adapter ASAP or put your stock parts back on... i'm suprised you did'nt throw a CEL for the IAT sensor being out and that filter with no MAF screen has to be giving abnormal readings!!!
