I have a 98 SVT and I was wondering which exhaust system is the best. My main concern is sound, I want it deep and throaty like a mustang gt or somthing(if its possable). Next would have to be performance and lastly looks. Ive been looking at the bosal exhaust and it sounds like its the best but ive also read that flowmaster has the best sounds quality. If any of you are knowledgable in this area which i know alot of u are could u please throw ur 2 cents my way. Also i was going to buy a new y-pipe.

O and please dont bash me im a kid.

If you want Mustangie..get the Yo-dude (now TrueBendz) with the Magnaflow muffler. $340 to your door...very deep and sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet sounding. I had one...niiiiiiiiiiice!

You even get the Mustang 45 degree slash tips...can't go wrong.

That actually sounds nice and well priced. Haven't heard it yet, though.

My favorite just happens to be what I have on my car. I have the Brullen loud exhaust with the center resonator and MSDS headers and y-pipe. Sounds meaeaeaeaeaean.

The Borla exhaust and SHM headers sounds pretty ragged, too. But these are both setups that cost three times what the other guy mentioned (of course you're getting the headers and y pipe along with the catback...).

I'd go Brullen if $ wasn't a concern. If it is I'd go Trubendz w/ Magnaflows.

Re: Best Exhaust????????

Headers w/Duals. Check with DemonSVT, his may very well turn out to be the best yet.

How many ppl can afford $800 for 10 hp? Too much bread IMO on a Contour.

That's about what I paid (net) for the "entire" exhaust setup on my car.
Headers to tips...

Break out the calculators on that one and see why I'm smiling...

Also comparing our aftermarket costs to another vehicle's is pretty pointless. We DON'T OWN another vehicle. (in a manor of speaking if you do own more than 1)
If one wanted cheap aftermarket parts then one should have bought a SBC, 5.0, Honduh, etc...
I'll take style, class, & uniqueness myself...

Sounds great ... but how does it really sound?

Personally I'd sacrifice a few HP to have a beautiful sounding system that has me grinning and bystanders drooling with envy vs. the most power gains with so-so sound quality. Heresy in your book perhaps, but sound is half the reason for getting new exhaust IMO.

Then again, if your system sounds pimp, for $800 INCLUDING headers, then this debate is over!

Perhaps a good sound clip?
