So Im on my way home tonight from a local car show, and turn the corner onto a double lane road that then Y's about 1/2 mile down the road. Well I pull up behind a 87-88 T-bird and then go on passed in the other lane. Well as Im passing I notice about a 6"x12" SVT sticker on the lower rear corner, and then on the lower part of the bumper near the front wheel the same thing only saying Turbo. So I shake my head and proceed, So its a kid bout 17/18 with his girlfriend, he then decides to gun it and pull up next to me just as we hit the Y. Well needless to say I speed off the opposite direction to my house, and will probably go cruising through his neighbor hood here later next week to scope out this SVT TurboCoupe.

Some people will never learn.

You may love SVT's and want one really bad, but you can't go around placing SVT badges all over something that anyone with common sense knows wasn't produced by SVT.

That goes for any car for that matter. The nerve!

The Thunderbird Super Coupe isnt a fast car especially for having a turbo, high 14's just isnt impressive to me.

There is nothing wrong with him having an SVT STICKER on his car...did you ever think maybe he just likes SVT's and wants to show his support? If it was an SVT BADGE like all real SVT's are equiped with, then I can see that as being wrong...but it's just a STICKER !

Let me correct a few things:
1 - he was talking about a Turbo Coupe, not Super...Super Coupes were Supercharged.
2 - Having an SVT sticker on his car actually isn't TOO far off from being accurate...the Turbo Coupes were built by the SVO...note the similarties in the SVO Mustangs and Turbo Coupes

So, I guess this applies to all cars then.

Acura Integra's with Type R stickers that aren't Type R?

-Guess they are just big fans and want to "support" them.

The way I see it, if you want to support something, riding around with incorrect stickers or badges on your car isn't the way to go about it IMHO.

I am sure the guy was trying to pass it off as an actual SVT. I don't care how close the cars "may" be, if the Special Vehicle Team from for did not build it, the badges/stickers, whatever, don't belong there. That just strikes me as a "poser."

IMO.

I have a Ranger with a Roush sticker on the windsheild. It has a high flow cat, flowmaster, poly suspension bushings, and had 18" Roush wheels. The guy that owned it before me did all that at Roush, where he worked. So...I'm still a poser. The truck looked really amazing, and people I went to school with started making rumors that it ran 12's or some crazy crap. People would come up to me and ask that..Oh well, I'm less of a poser than some people. I saw a Topaz with a Roush sticker on the windsheild. bastards.
I once had a Turbo Coupe, it was a quick machine if you'd slip the clutch at 3,000 RPM to let the boost build up

Personally I thinks it kinda stupid. Not that i care or ya'll acutally care about my opinion, but Its not an SVT so don't put that sticker on it. The kid probably takes advantage of the fact that VERY FEW people know what SVT is and he has a nice lie to tell the people who ask about it.

On a different note some dude drove up next to me and a bunch of frineds outside a Hooters in a Intergra that was all riced out and had a torn off front bumper and the works. He called my car a rice burner and a European knock off and then Farted away. Just had to get that off my chest

No, you saw a T-Bird with an SVT badge stuck on it.

"The way I see it, if you want to support something, riding around with incorrect stickers or badges on your car isn't the way to go about it IMHO."

You got that right how is buying a $5 sticker supporting SVT????

I hate fake badging on cars. Nobody ever put fake "GTO", "SS", or "Boss 302" badges on cars in the muscle car era!
