I've gotta know why firing order is important? You don't have a distributor, and the coil pack has the numbers on it.
Are you trying to find TDC at each cylinder?

I didn't really mean firing order. I just wanted to verify the phisical location of cylinder 1.

An inline 6 such as those that Ford used to make and General Motors and BMW still makes. An inline 6 is inherently much better balanced and smooth than any 4, V6, V8, or V10.
A little trivia. The firing order on most inline 6 engines is 153624. The way we were taught to remember that many years ago was with the little ditty "fifteen is too young, thirtysix is too old, but twentyfour is just right".

Firing order isn't 6-5-4-3-2-1-BLAST OFF??? Maybe that has been my problem all these years!!! You learn something new everyday.

I know what an inline 6 is but was unsure what inline 6 this guy was referring to. Contours don't have inline 6's so I was confused.
