Forget about a cat, just go with muffler. Zetec doesn't need a dual stage dampner (its actually called a dual mode dampner). Intake (actually throttle body) spacer is snake oil, don't wory about it. Add crank UDP & chip to the list.

everyone is still so discouraging about everything. sad. lighten up, if someone wants to do something to their car, let them it's theirs, if it doesn't work, oh well, laugh at them then for wasting money. no need to bash for trying.

Nobody is bashing, they're trying to help someone save their money and use it wisely.

These ore good ideas (well some of them) I have an ATX and it has mods but one must realize that it has limits. and like others here who have ATX's i tend to push the limits. But If you plan on moding look and see whats been done and what has been proven to work on are cars. and go from there and it never hurts to try somthing new. Like something that has not been done before or a diffrent comb. to get a simalr end resalt. But enjoy and mod it. But do rember it will not be a MTX, It still can be fun. and ENJOY. and rember to Keep it cool it runs better that way.

SleeperZ, you can still have a high performance car that passes emissions. Just use a highflow cat. They are cheap at summitonline. A throttle body spacer is "snake oil" but an intake manifold spacer isn't. It will keep a metal intake manifold from getting hot. When I get a new intake manifold the air/fuel mixture will be cooler as it enters the cylinder. A crank UDP would increase power and response but I don't care about the hard take offs. When I'm done my car will be able break the tires loose at 50 MPH with no boost/nitrous. Thats with my ac pumping out cold air. instead of getting a UDP why don't you take off you AC. Its very heavy and it is one of the biggest power robbing accessaries there are under the hood.

the AC unit is lighter than you think.... not even 10 lbs so you wouldn't even gain 1/10th of a second in the quarter.

Even if you don't have the answer, you certainly have to admire the problem.

A/C compressor, accumulator, condensor, and two main lines weigh a total of 24lbs. Maybe a 30lb total if you remove the whole system (all lines and the evaporator).

You have a PLASTIC intake manifold...it doesn't get that hot...

The stock manifold is plastic but it is also not very performance oriented. Therefore, With a new intake manifold (metal) I can achieve a little more torque, HP, and throttle response. Why would you put a larger throttle body and MAF sensor on if you going to leave on the [censored] intake. I mean think about it, thats like putting a turbo kit on a stock engine. Try expanding the inside of a plastic intake. Just common sence, you know. Thanks for your 2 cents!
