Just as impressive is the car's overall ride and handling balance, which reminded me of the short-lived Ford Contour SVT, perhaps the only front-wheel-drive car ever worthy of the sports-sedan label.

It seems some automotive journalists still remember the late great SVT Contour. Kind of brings a tear to your eye...

We've always touted the 6 as the unofficial SVT replacement on the market today, and it looks like the press is seeing that connection too! Great article.

If you opt for the V6, you get a 3.0-litre variant of the DOHC Ford Duratec family, rated at 220 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 192 lb/ft of torque at 5000 rpm.

Do we have a new 3.0L to transplant???

Hmmm, not unless you want to spend 3 times as much and get less HP then a modded 2.5L. We have stock 2.5L's that are within 10hp of the best dyno I've seen out of the 6.
