Only had my cobra for about 2 months now. just yesterday, i see my K band goin crazy, but hear nothing. thank god i saw it or i would have been pulled over. my sound doesn't work at all. i tried pressin mute, once twice three times, 324325 times. also, its stuck on highway. no idea whats wrong? anyone? i restarted it several times. no sound. unpluged and pluged in, no sound...hmmmm

Did ya fiddle with the dial on the side? Also, IIRC, you push and hold city/highway to switch it, right? Anyway, speaking of/bashing Cobras, I've got two tickets in the past year with no warning at all. I need to take it back to the evil Best Buy and get a new one.

omg.....i'm slow.......at first i thought u were talkin bout svt cobra's.....and i was thinkin that maybe they had like a factory installed radar detector....
PS-other than the valentine1 and the passport what are some quality radar detectors

I use the little round indicator thingy in the dash to help me regulate my speed & avoid getting tickets.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

you may of heard of either v1 or an escort 8500. pretty much everything else is just a waste of $$. do a search...

You should by A good CB Radio. I don't think It would look good In A car But That's what I use In My Big truck I think It's One of the Best defenses. Or you can get one of those Hand Held Job's

My K40 works good, they give you a year warranty, and they pay speeding tickets for that year as well, I have owned mine since December of last year, and to this date I have yet to get a ticket, it has saved my ass many times, so I can see why they give you the garantee. I thought about a V1 but that was way to much to pay for a radar detector IMO. IIRC I paid around $240 shipped from sounddomain.com

lol. my the vector 985 is the same thing as the 8500. ive used it for over a year and its saved me over 15 times at least. you just have to know what to look for. paying less than $300 for a radar detector is a waste. the v1 isnt even that great. had one and it was worse than the 985. the 8500 is the best prolly, but they dont sell it where i work and i got the 985 for only 150, which is less than half the original cost. if i had to pay full price, the 8500 is where my money is.
