Hey all... I know a lot of you may not know or remember me, but I just wanted to tell all of you guys how much of a pleasure it has been to be a member of this board. So many great tips and advice came from you guys on here, and while I haven't been actively posting, I have kept tabs on most everything as I had time to get behind a computer.

About a month ago, my 98 Duratec ATX started experiencing transmission problems. Ever since day 1 of owning the car, I had really hoped that in the future I would be able to replace the automatic tranny with a manual 5 speed. However, when I found out that the cost of installing a manual tranny in the car was going to be more cost involved than buying another vehicle, I decided to just hang on to the automatic until it died. Well, that day finally started arriving sooner than I had expected. I discovered that the trade in value of the car was going to pretty much equal up to the costs involved with buying and installing a new tranny. So, rather than spend money, I decided to get it back and traded it in on a 99 Camaro V6 5 speed. Nothing hot or spectacular and certainly not the next star in another fast and furious movie, but I like the lines and feel of the car, so all of you who are thinking I bought the car to be the fastest thing on the road are mistaken.

Anyways, I just wanted to say that since I am no longer a Contour owner, I probably won't be popping in to check on things. However, if Lance decides to keep my account active, if you find a mod or tip topic that I either started or contributed to, feel free to PM me and keep in touch. I will be glad to offer you guys any advice I can. Keep this board alive... it is a wonderful resource. I found out sadly that now that GM killed the F-Body, that the f-body.org site is now coming to a close too. Luckily for all of you, that wasn't the case for this site. Ford killed off our beloved Contours, but through everything it was kept alive. So goodbye, and so long and everyone take care!

Yeah, because they're so trouble-free!

Good luck with the Camaro.. About as fast as the Contour, and an exhaust note to die for. Sounds like a good trade.

MarkO,
It is because when this board changed formats I think our post numbers went out the window. I know I have posted more than 19 times, but that has been since the new format went into effect. I have been a member for about 3 years now. In fact, most of those 19 posts were due to the indiglo group buy last summer that I helped organize for a bit.

And I will most likely be trolling around from time to time... so it's good to know that you guys will still make me feel welcome as you have all done in the past.
